Tidbits from the Last Week

The school term is in full swing here at RVA. Alex is teaching his two classes: AP Biology and AP Calculus and has already given his first quizzes and tests! He is also coaching JV soccer. They tied their first game on Saturday and won their game this afternoon! Abby had her first soccer game (grades 1-4 mixed age teams within the school) and her first ballet class this past week as well. Andrew is enjoying preschool and is starting to make good friends. Melissa has taught 3 weeks of music classes and her K-4 group will sing together in church this weekend. They sounded beautiful at practice in the chapel this morning. Their voices are so sweet as they sing, "Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord." This weekend, activities abound: Alex and Melissa begin teaching Sunday school classes (10th grade boys and 9th grade girls, respectively). Titchie field day is Saturday morning and Alex and Abby will begin working on a pinewood derby car which they will race later in the term. Titchie, by the way, is a British term for "little ones." We are enjoying getting to know students. We ate dinner with two pairs of students this past week. It is so fun to walk through campus, greeting students from Kindergarteners to Seniors. The weather is beginning to warm up - highs in the daytime are in the upper 70s, though it continues to be very dry. Nightime is still quite cold as well.
